Mirambika Crisis – Sarvodaya residents appear before the DOE inspection

Quite a few Sarvodaya residents came to Ashram gate no. 6 in support of the petitioners and to talk to the journos regarding Sarvodaya’s campaign against the SAES’ proposed Technical College. They complained of the chaos caused by MIS traffic on the road skirting the Enclave and its entry / exit gates and expressed fear that further traffic, parking, social order, etc chaos would result for their Enclave if the Technical College comes up in place of the Mirambika School. They threatened to file a writ petition if their concerns were not addressed. The Ashram assured them of a meeting sometime later. Based on its proximity with the local AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, the Ashram appears confident of winning over the protesting Sarvodaya residents. However, that confidence may be misplaced given that despite putting all its resources at work, the SAES is still struggling to contain the agitation of the parents against its 14/4 murder of the rule of law. Also, in an open house, Bharti recently assured the Sarvodaya residents that he will get the Ashram to address the problems highlighted by them.

BTW, what are Sarvodaya Residents complaining for after all? Should their cars not be parked within their houses?

That should be the case all over. With all new construction to be on stilts that may even happen. However, limited public infrastructure in the neighborhood cannot be indiscriminately burdened just because the Ashram wants to make money by running an engg college. They must provide for parking within their campus.
