Mirambika Crisis: How PJ has got SAES stuck in an awful situation?

SAES records show deliberations regarding setting up an engineering college in place of Mirambika School at least since January, 2015. Sometime in March, 2015, some alterations to the Mirambika building became visible and equipment (which must have been ordered much earlier) started being set up in the spaces and facilities used by Mirambika children. Faculty for the engineering college also started getting lined up to satisfy AICTE. PJ authorized / signed the contracts and paid a lot of the cost for these alterations, equipment and faculty even before getting AICTE approval for the proposed engineering college – now being questioned by DDA. This cost is hurting PJ but then he himself made the wrong decisions that led to this cost.

On 29th April, 2015, after SAES had illegally moved Mirambika School out of its rightful location on 14th April, 2015, an ill advised affidavit (see after the quote below) was filed by Dr. Ramesh Bijlani before AICTE for and on behalf of SAES stating that:

It is further certified that on this land and building there is no .school running and nor is it proposed to open a School in future.

Lastly, it is also certified that the building shall be used only for the purpose for which the land has been allotted by DDA and nothing else.”

The land and building referred to by Dr. Bijlani in his affidavit before the AICTE was in use by Mirambika School till 13th – 14th April, 2015. Earlier, it was inspected by AICTE in vacant condition after Mirambika children had been sent out on a picnic by SAES. This fact was brought to the knowledge of AICTE officials but they still processed SAES’ application for an engineering college on 30th April, 2015. PJ authorized SAES payment of Rs 2.8 mn to AICTE for the foregoing. This cost too is hurting PJ but again he himself made the wrong decisions that led to this cost.

In early May 2015, the Delhi High Court issued a status quo order in respect of the building referred to by Dr. Bijlani in his affidavit before the AICTE.

On 23rd June, 2015, DDA issued a Show Cause Notice to SAES against the proposed engineering college. This Notice DOES NOT question the existence or running of Mirambika School from the land and building in question.

In early July 2015, as per inside the Ashram sources, SAES replied to the DDA Show Cause Notice asserting that it is entitled to establish an engineering college on the land and building referred to by Dr. Bijlani in his affidavit before the AICTE. SAES is deliberately hiding its reply to the DDA Show Cause Notice from Mirambika parents because it clearly shows SAES’ to make an engineering college, at any cost, in place of Mirambika School.

Meanwhile, meaningless talks are on between some Mirambika parents divided by their lack of application of mind to facts or intentional acceptance of SAES’ misrepresentations about some perceived DDA threat to land and building due to Mirambika School running therefrom but in reality its SAES’ own affidavit before AICTE which is preventing it from restoring Mirambika School to its rightful pre April 14th location. SAES’ ill advised reply to the DDA Show Cause Notice asserting that it is entitled to establish an engineering college on the land and building further shows its real intent and complicates the matter to a point where the wrongly perceived threat has been given a real basis by SAES’ own conduct.  Instead, SAES can withdraw the affidavit filed by Dr Bijlani before AICTE, restore Mirambika School to its rightful pre April 14th location, and blunt the DDA Show Cause Notice for good लेकिन विनाश काले विपरीत बुध्दि !

Such efforts have been used in trying to collect the parent community to see what lies under their nose. Can’t fathom what prevents them from seeing the obvious and voicing their concern.

If anything untoward were to happen to mirambika, along with Pranjal, those silent parents will need to take responsibility.
